Specialist

MedHealth has been providing high quality ‘fit for purpose’ medical assessment services to DVA and the Australian Defence Force for more than two decades.

We have amassed substantial experience and capabilities in delivering independent medical examinations (IMEs) in the following areas:

  • Informing eligibility (initial liability) decisions
  • Assessing capacity and return to work
  • Evaluating permanent impairment in accordance with the requirements and methodologies stipulated by the relevant current and prior Acts.

Surgical Second Opinions

There are often multiple options for treating a person who is injured or ill. When the recommended way forward is surgery, it is valuable to assess all options. Sometimes, intervention is not necessary or may have complications and require complex rehabilitation. Conversely, delaying necessary surgery can have a negative impact.

This Surgical Second Opinion Service delivers to all parties:

  • The client receives an informed second opinion and treatment options to discuss with their doctor.
  • The customer gets a prompt and robust second opinion which comprises comprehensive clinical reasoning, and high quality, relevant medical evidence to support recommendations and advice. This information enables timely decision-making on cost approval requests.
