About Sarah Hilt
Sarah Hilt’s passion for personal injury insurance began in 2017 after she was handed one of the biggest challenges of her career.
She says, “Following the decision of a major customer, I was supporting the transition of a significant volume of personal injury claims from insurers – without interruption to service, benefits or treatment – in an extremely tight time frame. “I quickly learned how personal injury claims brings out the best in people. We worked around the clock on the complex project – to take on new staff, create new systems and processes and ensure a successful service transition for all claims. The injured workers’ journey was our focus in that period.”
Hilt’s academic background in economics and marketing meant insurance was not an obvious career path; however, accepting a job with GIO’s product and distribution team gave her early exposure to an industry she would grow to love and develop a passion for.
A decade later, Hilt is the Group Executive for Personal Injury at one of Australia’s largest providers of insurance and health services, MedHealth. She oversees the delivery of the independent medical opinion, workplace rehabilitation, specialised psychiatric and psychological services, as well as MedHealth’s Personal Injury digital transformation project that will better support front-line team members as they deliver 135,000 client support services each year.
Outside MedHealth, Hilt serves on the Board of the Physical Disability Council of NSW, which champions systemic advocacy and equity.
