Chosen by our team members as our charity-of-choice, MedHealth has teamed up with OzHarvest, Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, for the next three years to support food rescue and provide relief to those struggling to put food on the table.

As the leading food rescue organisation in Australia, OzHarvest has already delivered over 250 million meals and is inspiring others to meet the national target of halving food waste in Australia by 2030.

MedHealth’s team members took part in a company-wide vote to find the charity that best shared the organisation’s vision, purpose, and approach to their community and sustainability goals. OzHarvest came out on top by a wide margin. Supporting the food rescue organisation deeply resonated with our people, with team members citing food insecurity, poverty and financial hardship as a growing concern amongst their clients and in the community at large.

CEO of MedHealth, Tim Morphy said MedHealth was proud to team up with OzHarvest to help make a difference to communities and the environment.

“We recognise that everyone has a role to play to support the people in our community who need it most, and to meet the challenges of our environment. Our people are passionate about bringing this collaboration to life, supporting OzHarvest as we also work to improve life, health and employment outcomes for our clients,” he said.

OzHarvest welcomed MedHealth as a proud supporter and is looking forward to what can be achieved together.

“Thank you to MedHealth for helping us ‘Nourish our Country’ for the next three years. Their support will allow OzHarvest to deliver an additional 150,0000 meals to vulnerable communities throughout Australia.

“This shows their dedication to strengthening community though improved health outcomes and connectiveness, at a time when demand for food relief is at an all-time high,” said Keith Brown, OzHarvest National Partnership Lead.

In addition to the ongoing support of OzHarvest, MedHealth team members will conduct fundraising activities, conduct food drives and take advantage of volunteering opportunities and Cooking for a Cause classes each year. For every $1 dollar raised, two meals can be provided to people in need.
